On Black Entertainers

Halle Berry became the first black actress to earn an Academy Award in a
lead role and Denzel Washington became the second black man to win best
actor. Berry won for her portrayal of a death-row widow involved with her
husband’s executioner in ”Monster’s Ball,” and Washington took his
prize for playing a corrupt cop in ”Training Day.”

people as long as you act a fool. And as long as you will jump up on the
stage dance and sing evil and filthy songs. And you pull off half your

that he, the white man, made a fool out of one of your members and why
you don’t want him. So, as long as your own people and my people of the
