WHITEMAN AND THE HYPOCRITES LOVE MALCOLM
Reprinted from Muhammad Speaks October 3, 1969
By JOHN ALI
National Secretary Nation of Islam
A great affront has been made to the Black people of Chicago and
America by naming a school after Malcolm right in the home of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Long have we witnessed the efforts to make a
martyr out of Malcolm Little, known better as Malcolm X. Many times
people have said— nothing should be said about or against Malcolm X as
this brings about an element of division in the Black community.
It is known and let it be understood, that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad
is 100 per cent for the Black man in America. The only division has come
from the Black man being divided from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad by
awkward leadership and the overt and sublineal intervention of our former
slave masters.
This effort throughout the country to glorify Malcolm by the former slave
master and his puppets, is a great attempt to weaken the leadership
position of Messenger Muhammad or to embarrass him and finally to make
and fester a bed of opposition to Messenger Muhammad. It is not an issue
of can’t Muhammad withstand opposition as Messenger Muhammad’s ability to
overcome his opposition is a test of his being the Messenger of God and
further proof to his opponents and provides an opportunity for Allah to
make Himself known by backing up and supporting the Honorable Elijah
Muhammad over any and all his opponents. Muhammad’s opponents are
considered by him and God as a gnat chewing at a mountain. But Messenger
Muhammad’s job is saving souls of a fallen people, the Black man of
America.
It is in this realm, keeping our people from avoiding a confromtation of
fire, the issue of Malcolm is brought up so Black people may avoid the
false impetus provided by that tragedy of building up reverence for
Malcolm. Just as America is concerned and anxious over the present Viet
Nam crisis and is eager not to get involved in another self-destroying
crisis . . . so, too is Messenger Muhammad even greater concerned in
saving the lives of the Black man of America from the doom and
destruction divinely planned for America.
In view of this development by the slavemaster and unknowing jealous and
envious Black leaders to get Black people to defect to idol or hero
worship of Malcolm or some other Black or white man as his benefactor or
Saviour is why this issue is brought up. It is not on digging into the
grave of Malcolm and presenting and rehashing irrelevant issues. No! This
is the argument of the unknowing, but the scholars and scientists know
Messenger Muhammad is going about the only work among the dead of
bringing the Black man of America from a dead state to the live state.
Long have the Black people of America had self-styled , hand-picked
establishment (power structure, the man downtown and funded government -
sponsored organizations) leaders. This is not the case of the Honorable
Elijah Muhammad, who boldly states that he is the direct representative
of God, as a Messenger, and was chosen in person by God, Who came in the
Person of Master Fard Muhammad.
None of Mr. Muhammad’s statements of being the Apostle of God have been
challenged or disproven by any theologians. Let us examine the psychology
behind naming an institution here in Chicago after Malcolm. What was the
motive behind this? Long has the white man taken up the mantle of the
fallen and the dead among Blacks for them to idolize and to follow. Mind
you now , the white man does not advocate the worship of Malcolm for his
people; but only for those Blacks who are inclined to doing Black in
parts; to keep them from accepting the the whole realm of Black as
advocated and preached by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad for the past 39
years.
It is only after Malcolm turned hypocrite to the religion of Islam and
his teacher, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, did the white man take up the
exportation of Malcolm as an example for Black people. Why didn’t the
white man do this before the fall of Malcolm from the graces of Islam,
the religion he professed to be in and taught during the more than nine
years he followed the Honorable Elijah Muhammad?
Malcolm, himself, acknowleded that his awareness of Black and the
preachings of it all came from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and many
examples of his speeches or writings prior to his fall as a hypocrite
(religious term used to describe one who turns away from that which he
professed or believes; militarily, they are called traitors; and,
politically, they are called turncoats).
Long have we witnessed the white man doleing out pieces of things as
“meat on a bone” to keep the Black man from going to his own; such as
“reward after you die” (a lie which has been exploded by the teaching of
the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and not commonly believed by the Blackman
). “Masonry” represents 33 degrees, a fraction of the truth, as Islam
represents the whole of it–360 degrees.
“Greek letters, fraternities and sororities” as a form of brotherhood as
Islam represents the base of all brotherhood. And now, the idolization of
Malcolm’s and Martin Luther King’s as examples for Black people to
follow. We are well on to this trick of picking dead men (Jesus, Booker
T.Washington, Martin Luther King and now Malcolm).
If there is someone in America or the world who loves Black today, they
must attribute this tendency to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. It is easy
to see why we pick up fallen and discarded leadership as we have been
raised in a slave-mental environment. But it is time that we do not fall
victim to that human tragedy that occurs from smaller men because of
jealousy and envy.
It is known that the division of Blacks is perpetrated by church leaders
who are trying to cover their false spiritual teachings in a variety of
do-for self plans taken from the teaching of the Honorable Elijah
Muhammad. If Black is loved so well, why don’t these leaders and their
followers patronize the Salaam Restaurant where they know, and the world
knows the best of food is prepared at prices adjusted to the Black
community and not with the excuse or reason that smoking is not allowed
and no drinks are served and indecency is not permitted.
If Black is loved so well, why don’t they and their followers patronize
Your Supermarket, which sets an outstanding example of superior products
being offered for sale in meats, dairy, produce and staples. If Black is
loved so well , why don’t they acknowledge and follow the man who has
made it so predominate in getting to the root of it all by letting us
know that we are the Asiatic Blackman.
The Black man of America will not be fooled by all this glorification and
elevation of Malcolm. Malcolm was nothing more than a student of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad and not even a good student as he did not keep
on the right path of continuing to follow the teachings of the Honorable
Elijah Muhammad.
Why does the whiteman resurect Malcolm? Why does the whiteman want you to
think Malcolm was a wonderful teacher and why didn’t God save Malcolm
from guns which brought him down? Messenger Muhammad stands before you
and your guns but Messenger Muhammad has the power with him Who has power
over the gun holder and the gun. You can’t kill him unless God allows you
to. The whiteman knows he would be committing suicide, but he would like
for you to do it.
Why would he think Martin Luther King was so great for you? Why didn’t he
let him stay alive? White people killed him. He decided to try to
integrate with you, honor you and yet you killed him. Is this the pay for
us all trying to integrate with you? Martin Luther King nor his successor
have had any success.
Malcolm was for continuing the rule of the white man when he went back to
him and began preaching the whiteman as an equal to or superior to the
Black man.
If worshippers of a dead Jesus are coming to a naught, what do you expect
to happen to you who are now being deceived into Malcolm lovers?
We say both phony Black leadership and the white groups trying to prevent
the divine prophesy of the religion of the Black man by intervention of
God through an appointed Messenger, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. But
the Black man will not be fooled by these plans of self-help, Head Start,
Black Capitalism, Black Nationalism,Afro-Americanism and other
pseudoplans which are designed only for one thing, to keep the Black
community specifically away from accepting the right teaching of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
Our heritage is more than tribalism, hair dos, dances and music. It
goes further back than West Asia being named Africa by Alexander.
Muhammad goes to the root to give us a high civilization. Malcolm’s
brother, Philbert Omar — who introduced Malcolm to the teachings of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Minister of Muhammad’s Mosque No.1 in
Detroit, Michigan; and Malcolm’s older brother, Brother Wilbert, is in
the Mosque there also. They too, like the rest of us, had and have the
opportunity to go and join the ideas Malcolm advocated after turning
hypocrite but they chose to stay with the righteous in the right path the
Messenger is preparing for us. Would be worshippers of Malcolm would do
well to think many times before pursuing along this idiotic course. It is
already well written and documented, the doom and destruction God would
put on our slavemaster. The white man honors and respects Messenger
Muhammad. The Black man of America should follow him.

Farrakhan on Malcolm in 1971
The following words are transcribed from an audio-taped interview of
Minister Louis Farrakhan by Mr. Shields on the “Black Perspective” radio
program heard over WLIB in May, 1971.
Mr. Shields: What was the Muslim side of the life of Malcolm X?
Min. Farrakhan: Well, Malcolm, as you know, was a follower of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad and according to the history, Malcolm heard the
teachings of Mr. Muhammad while he was in prison. The teaching of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad awakened Malcolm as it has awakened all of us
who have come under the light of Mr. Muhammad’s guidance. And in
awakening Malcolm it gave to Malcolm what it gave to all of us who have
accepted Islam, and that is an insatiable desire for learning. And so
Malcolm became a follower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and thus
Malcolm Little was to be known as Malcolm X.
Mr. Shields: I notice that you know call him Malcolm Little and you no
longer have the “X” after his name. Was this due to his expulsion and
complete disregard for Malcolm as far as the Nation is concerned now?
Min. Farrakhan: Well I think that we must all agree that in mathematics
“X” stands for the unknown. And the “X” is given to all of us who follow
the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, in place of the slavemaster’s name, and so
the characteristics of the man in relationship to God is yet unknown.
Therefore, as he begins to work and manifest the quality or
characteristic or attribute of God that best personifies him, then he is
named an attribute of God. So we don’t give him the “X” anymore because
now he is known to us. His deeds have made him known.
Mr. Shields: I wish you’d clarify that one point.
Min. Farrakhan: Certainly. When he came to the Honorable Elijah
Muhammad, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gives us all an X-the unknown.
He’s now trying to qualify for one of the Righteous, Holy Names of God.
Now as Malcolm believed in Allah and believed in The Messenger, he worked
for the cause of Islam and the regeneration of Black people. But then he
turned back on that belief and died in disbelief. So there’s no more “X”
there. There’s no more unknown quantity there. He’s well known and that
is a hypocrite. Meaning he believed in God and in The Messenger of God
and in that which God revealed to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad -then he
turned back on his belief and became and apostate and died in his
apostasy. So therefore with us he is well known. So it can’t be Malcolm
“X:”, be just Malcolm, the chief opponent of the Honorable Elijah
Muhammad.
Mr. Shields: Malcolm said that, I believe it was after he came back
from Mecca, said that his religion was still Islam, that he had not in
fact turned back on Islam, but after his trip to Mecca, he saw a lot of
things and he sort of changed his philosophy.
Min. Farrakhan: The truth of this brother, is that Whenever a
Messenger of God appears, he always teaches the same basic religious
message as all the former Prophets. But you cannot get away with
disbelieving in a contemporary Messenger by holding on to a belief in a
Prophet or Messenger who died 4,000 or 2,000 years ago. For instance,
when Moses was on the scene he had a lot of people who believed in him.
Jesus came to teach the Jews who said they believed in Moses. But they
couldn’t use Moses as a cloak for their rejection of the current Prophet
or Messenger from God. Because if Moses prophesied that one would come
after him and Jesus answered that particular prophecy, then those who
believed in Moses should have believed in Jesus. And what I am saying to
you is this; that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
to 30 million Black people in America. So when you turn your back on this
man who is the fulfillment of all that the former Prophets predicted then
you’ve also turned you back on Moses; you ‘ve turned you back on Jesus;
and you’ve turned your back on Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah who appeared
1400 years ago. So you’re a total disbeliever in God and all Prophets
because you dis-believe in the Last One who is the fulfillment of all
that the former Prophet’s prophesied.
Mr. Shields: The Muslims that Malcolm ran into while he was in Mecca
when he took his Hajj, they accepted him. And from what I understand they
accepted him fully and totally, even after he changed. Now if this is in
fact true, then are they not wrong for accepting him?
Min. Farrakhan: Well in ignorance you will accept many things. Many of
the Eastern scholars actually say today that they would not have accepted
Malcolm had they really understood what he was there for.
Mr. Shields: What was he there for?
Min. Farrakhan: We sent Malcolm to the East in 1959. This is 5 years
before him defection in ’64. When Malcolm went in ’59, he saw white
Muslims there in Arabia. There were white Muslims in Turkey; white
Muslims in Iran; white Muslims in Iraq and Lebanon; in Albania. Malcolm
knew this and so did we. But when Malcolm left the teachings of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad, he left the base that he stood upon and he
needed a new base for leadership. So he had to try to get in among the
integration-minded Blacks who are in love with white people and who have
always wanted to include white people and never have wanted to get off
into anything totally Black. So Malcolm said: “I went to Mecca and my
horizon was broadened” And then he wrote to *Farmer and told Farmer he
was sorry for what he said. He wrote to **King and told King he was sorry
– but this was to give him a way with the integrationists.
Mr. Shields: Now, was Malcolm not surprised when he saw white Muslims
in the East?
Min. Farrakhan: If he was surprised would he not have shown this
surprise in 1959 rather than in 1964?
Mr. Shields: Well what do you think he meant when he said that his
horizons had been broadened?
Min. Farrakhan: Sir, there is nothing more broadening than a
contemporary Messenger of God and a Revelation from God. If Malcolm’s
horizons were broadened, then what he learned could supersede what his
teacher had taught him. But today the Muslims in the East are beginning
to bow to the wisdom of Messenger Muhammad in the West. It is not we in
the West who are bowing to the old Islam. That Islam in the East that
Malcolm went back and embraced, if it was so good why is it not doing
something for the Arab? Why isn’t it doing something for the brother in
Egypt? Why isn’t doing something for the whole Muslim world? All of Islam
needs to be updated, and it cannot be updated until a true interpretation
of the Holy Qur’an is given and that true interpretation is not in the
East, it is in the West among this Last Messenger of God, The Honorable
Elijah Muhammad.
Mr. Shields: Can we relate the two, the East and the West? Because
geographically we’re in different places. Our plights are different in
the respect that there is a different type of oppression here where we
are fighting to gain land, we’re trying to get land. In the East, there
is the land itself, can we relate to the same thing? Why should the
interpretation come from the West rather than the East?
Min. Farrakhan: Because it is written, that the Sun of Islam would
rise from the West in that latter days. It is written that the Last
Messenger of God would be found among a people who are mentally and
spiritually dead and that people happen to be the Black people of America
and that Messenger happens to be the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. And the
light of wisdom coming from The Messenger in the West is shedding light
on all that the Prophets revealed in the East.
Mr. Shields: Now Islam itself as far as Malcolm was concerned, again I
go back to this point, he became a Black Nationalist, more or less, as
far as his philosophy was concerned. Did this have anything to do with is
defection?
