THE PIONEERS

Brother Johnnie Muhammad

Blood Brother of Messenger Elijah Muhammad

A Little of his History:

Brother Johnnie Muhammadwas born August 27, 1907, in Courville, Georgia
to William and Marie Muhammad – the same parents as Allah’s Last and
Greatest Messenger, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Messenger Elijah
Muhammad was nearly ten years old when Brother Johnnie was born.

Brother Johnnie Muhammad, like Messenger Elijah Muhammad, carried the
slave name of  Poole until 1931 when he reclaimed his own in the Nation
of Islam, after meeting face to face with God in Person, though he firmly
acknowledged that he “didn’t know he was God at the time”.

Brother Johnnie Muhammad, a hard-working FOI, worked for Chrysler
Corporation for 30 years. Upon retirement he spend time with family and
friends and continued his dedication to the Nation of Islam.

Brother Johnnie Muhammad was given the position of Investigator by
Messenger Elijah Muhammad, and remained on that post as strong Witness
Bearer to the Coming of Allah in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad and
the raising up of  His Last and Greatest Messenger, The Most Honorable
Elijah Muhammad, from 1931-until he departed peacefully on November 26,
1998.

His wife, Sister Ethel Muhammad, whom we will always remember as a
prime example of what good MGT Sister should be; his daughter, Ruth,
two grandsons, Thaddeus and Gregory, and eleven siblings preceded him in
death.

Brother Johnnie Muhammad leaves to cherish his memories; his daughter,
Bertha Durr; brother, Minister John Muhammad; eight grandchildren,
Queenzella, Rodriquez, Renee, Kamal, Lynette (Ethel), Mark Twain, Andrea,
and Kozetta; nineteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great
grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Marsie Woodson, Burnestine Muhammad
and Yasmeen Muhammad; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Muslim
Brothers and Sisters, and friend.

May you find comfort in the enduring beauty of Allah’s word, and in the
warmth of happy memories. With the passing of time, may the spirit of
acceptance and inner peace enfold you.
