Messenger Elijah Muhammad Speaks to the M.G.T.

    You are being planted for the civilization of tomorrow. You have to
know what the people of tomorrow want. Allah wants you to live longer,
and to live longer you have to carry the right weight. If you are eating
too much of the wrong food, you cannot live the long life Allah wants you
to live. Have you not been taught that there are 23 scientists taking the
actions of the people 25,000 years in the distant future? Now would you
call them Gods, Prophets, or what would you call them? You would call
them Gods, wouldn’t you? But there is one superior over all. He lives and
dies, and another takes His place who is just like Him, and you never
know the difference. I just want you to understand that God is a man.
This is the one you can’t tune in on Him unless He wants you to. That is
what makes Him a special God. He sees and hears everything.

I want you to learn these things. You are from that kind of a God. You
yourselves can be that kind of a person (God). Allah has appeared to you
in person as it is said in the Holy Quran. That you don’t have to be
taught. You yourselves know about the devils. He has taken you from
birth. That you have been taught. In the Laws, you will read the things
Allah grants to those who will submit to the will of Allah. You need
that. He grants that to you when you obey Him.

The Prayer says you cast off and forsake him who disobeys Allah. It might
be my sons or daughters. I may want to hold on to them because they are
my sons and my daughters. Now if I do that, I am disobeying the Law. You
can’t be a member of this class if you don’t live the Laws of Allah. Now
if your husband don’t love the Laws, you should forsake him. Suppose it
was reversed — suppose your husband loved the Laws and you didn’t. He
should forsake you. A Moslem will not make no friend with people who
don’t love Allah. If you won’t forsake your son who does not believe,
then you are not a full believer. You will forsake the others, but not
your own son.

We must not imitate non-Moslems. We say, “I was just playing.” Sometimes,
“just playing” is really harmful.

If a man has a righteous wife, a righteous woman is a pleasing woman.
That husband should be pleased with that woman. The worst hell is
discontentment in the home. First, learn to make your home your heaven.
If you can’t, something is wrong and you are a long ways from being a
Moslem girl. If you can’t, something is wrong — either you or the whole
house. Learn to be at peace in your home. Don’t sit in your house and
stare at the others and say, “You are wrong, doing this or the other.” If
you want him to do it, first you yourself should do so. If your house is
messy, it can’t be peaceful. No sister should be on the committee if she
is not up to the mark herself.

    So I hope you  understand. I want you to be beginning from tonight
to be a perfect MGT. I want you to be the Star. I want you out every
Thursday night. If you don’t have carfare, I will give you your fare. If
you don’t have your fare, just call me, and I will pay it here and back.
Laziness is a sin.

    You must not use your beauty to tempt men —hair, bust, body,
legs, hips. Indecent acts:  Shaking, singing love songs in the presence
of men, enchanting looks. If a lovely man incites in you indecent
thoughts, she should look away from him—lower your gaze.

   Cover head, bosom. When a lady tempts a man to indecent thoughts, it
makes the man have like desire in his heart. It is not easy to heal this
desire. Watch the devil styles, and you will see he is just the opposite
of Allah’s Laws. How to cover in public:  Righteous women let down their
over garments, so that they may be known and not given any trouble. There
was a time when if a man bothered a Muslim woman he would be killed.
Allah will do the same today, too. So I hope what I’m telling you tonight
has made you happy. People in the East show no forms, take cloth like
sheets and wrap up. (Fingernails. Hot Irons).

    If we wash with pure water, we would have clear beautiful skin as I
do. Don’t you see how beautiful my skin is? Get Ivory soap, not full of
grease — many times nothing but clear water.

   Don’t use birth control unless for health’s sake.

    Do not marry disbelievers. He will marry you to make you believe as
he believes, not to believe as you do.

Mother Love

     By Divine Providence, nature has implanted in the break of every
mother that enduring mother love and affection for her offspring, and
causes her to give part of her life to nourish and sustain it until it
has arrived at a stage of self support, day and night with unbounded
patience and tender, unceasing care and affection; to support and protect
the feeble infant during its helpless condition and by her example and
teaching the character of the child has stamped upon it the
characteristics of the mother.

    It is the mother who gives life to all the people of the world and
molds the character of the men who form and rules the communities in
which we live. As men, we are largely what our mother have made us. A
child that is born of a good mother and trained up in the way it should
go, up to the age of twelve years, in all probability will not depart
from it when he is old. Whenever we hear or read of a real man who has
accomplished something of real worth, we can be sure he had an
exceptional mother. And thus the world is indebted for most of its
goodness to the mother love implanted by nature to improve the world
through her example and teaching of her offspring.

    In the lower order of living creatures, the mother love and
affection for her offspring is the same in different degree, and they are
impelled by nature to follow without reason the example of the mother
through life, which is called instinct. They do as the mother did. In
catching mice, the kitten does not have to be taught. In building nests,
the young birds build as the mother did in the class to which she
belongs. Henry Favre, who has spent his life in studying insect life of
all kinds, tells us they all do as their mothers did without being
taught; in seeking food and storing for the winter, in providing for the
future, in preparing nests for the young, although many die before the
offspring is born, like producing like, in all respects in the vegetable
and animal kingdom.
