I was indeed greatly perturbed to hear of a hideous plot obviously aimed at taking the life of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad (reported in last week's MUHAMMAD SPEAKS newspaper).
MY FIRST thought and simultaneous exclamation upon receiving the news was "'Allah (God) be praised and thanked --- once again he's been spared!"
"Once again? --- Yes, that's right. The recent incident was by no means the first time the " Little Lamb" had been menaced by the wicked "beast" (or beasts). During the 36 or 37 years of total uninterrupted devotion to Allah (God) and His religion of peace and righteousness (Islam), many a foe has attempted to stalk the America Muslim leader -- only to fall a victim to his own folly.
Actually, I do not exaggerate it I state here that not a single moment of the Messenger's life --- past or present --- can be considered "state." Living as he does in the "beast's den is itself, the "Little Lamb" is ceaselessly confronted with the gravest dangers.
YET I KNOW for a fact that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is just about the most fearless, the most unapprehensive person any where. There is never a trace of alarm or affright in him.
"Lucky!" you might say. Hardly! On the other hand, I do firmly believe that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is no ordinary mortal or "self-styled or self -appointed Messenger of Allah," as alleged by his adversaries, but unequivocally a true man of God ---one who is wholly and solely devoted to his ordained (divine ) calling.
That is why, again, that I do not fear for the venerable Messenger's life myself. (If and when, on a visit to Chicago, I have the privilege of taking a walk or riding with the Messenger in his car, I do -- I confess --experience a bit of disquiet and apprehension. However, it is, without doubt, always limited to the safety of my own person. Somehow it just never occurs to me that anyone could possibly harm my noble and respected brother! )
I AM convinced that the source of his Mission --that is to say, the Supreme Being (Allah), whose life-giving Message the Honorable Elijah Muhammad imparts to the "Asiatic" inhabitants of this land (i.e. , so -called Negroes) ---- watches over him and will continue to protect him against every possible scheme and design of the "born (natural) evil-doers."
As a matter of fact, as of late I am further of the opinion that Allah's protection -----which is important, considering that these are the last days of the falling and rapidly, disintegrating "latter - day Babylon" ---- is equally available to all who already follow and obey His Messenger or who may yet heed the divinely-raised Muslim leader's final call to Islam (freedom , justice and equality to be enjoyed by the righteous, "reborn" Muslims on a part of this earth they can call their own).
IF ALL black Americans only but knew!
